About the watch SSH153J1 Seiko Astron GPS Solar Dual-Time Chronograph, caliber 5x83:

Seiko presents the first Astron GPS Solar watch that combines Dual-Time technology with a chronograph function: the Caliber 5X83​

With a chronograph timing of 1/20 of a second, the new Caliber 5X83 boasts the highest performance in Astron's history.

The SSh253J1 features three key improvements:

1.- 1/20 second chronograph function: The subdial at 12 o'clock measures elapsed time in 1/20 second increments.

2.- Faster time transfer function

The time of day displayed on the main dial can be changed with that on the 6 o'clock subdial by holding two buttons for three seconds.

The hands on the main dial and subdial move simultaneously, making the time required for transfer significantly shorter with the new Caliber 5X83 than with the Caliber 5X53.

3.- Improvement of the texture and colors of the dial, now contrasting, creating a more dynamic and sporty presence.

The bezel consists of two parts which includes a ceramic top and a titanium frame. The bezel is marked with the word "CHRONOGRAPH" along with Arabic numerals.

The hour, minute and second hands, as well as the three-dimensional indices, are filled with Lumibrite, improving legibility in low light conditions.

Thanks to the low center of gravity of the titanium case and the double-curved sapphire crystal with super transparent coating, the watches guarantee high levels of comfort and readability.

A new buckle adjustment system allows you to make, with the touch of a button, small adjustments to the bracelet length that are so important when temperature or other changes cause the wrist to expand or contract.
