The new Presage Enamel SPB401 has a more contemporary case but retains the classic dial, created in enamel by master craftsman Mitsuru Yokosawa and his team. Features blue hands. Like the Laurel, the numerals are in a font called Breguet and the 12 marker is highlighted in red.
Special elements of the SPB401 Limited Edition dial:
- The display and its sub-indications of date hand and power reserve
- The surface of the dial with this classic milky white enamel effect but also some depth with a sunken center section

Seiko's history began in 1881, when 21-year-old Kintaro Hattori opened a shop in Ginza to repair and sell watches. In 1892, he opened a factory called Seikosha to produce his own watches. Twenty years later, when pocket watches were still the standard, he experimented with wristwatches, cutting-edge technology at the time.
In 1913 Seiko successfully produced Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, and since then he has created many innovative wristwatches.
In 2023, Seiko celebrates the 110th anniversary of its first wristwatch, the Seiko Laurel. The SPB401J1 model is designed to be a travel companion, a reliable partner throughout life's journey.
