Luminox AIR watches have features such as high durability and extreme lighting power. The Series has its origins in our partnership with renowned fighter aircraft manufacturer Lockheed Martin, which still operates today.

The US Air Force pilots flying the Nighthawk F-117 Stealth jets approached and contacted Luminox to make watches specifically for them.

Thanks to its design and speed, the F-117 Nighthawk was almost invisible to radar, "reflecting" only a small percentage of its shape in any direction and, from the front, not as "big" as a Blip on a screen radar. The sleek, charcoal-colored streamlined contours of the aircraft have been the inspiration for the faceted diamond-shaped bezel and angular links of the bracelet. The matte appearance of the case is reminiscent of the surface of an airplane. The Arabic numerals on the dial and bezel feature a cockpit stencil font in ice blue SuperLuminova for a glow-in-the-dark effect. Paired with LLTs in a contrasting bright yellow, the watch has unrivaled nighttime visibility in all conditions and a unique stealthy aesthetic. The F-117 Nightyawi features a multi-eye Swiss quartz movement with GMT function for dual time zones with anti-reflective dial crystal.

The GMT bezel came about in the 1950s with the rise in commercial air travel. To help PanAm’s transatlantic pilots and their crews keep track of the local and Greenwich Mean Time (which was then used as the international time standard)
