About Seiko watches:

"Follow your dreams and keep moving ahead, no matter what challenge you face", this is the philosophy of Seiko's founder: Kintaro Hattori.

Kintaro Hattori is fascinated by the world of watchmaking and dreams of being a great watchmaker at the Swiss level. At just 18 years old he created a watch repair shop at his own home in Kyobashi (Ginza district). Four years later he founded the company K Hattori for repairs and sale of second-hand watches. In 1892, he created the firm Seikosha ("house of precision") manufacturing his own wall clocks and created the first pocket watch, called "Time Keeper" in 1895 or the first Japanese-made alarm clock. In 1913 he created the first wristwatch called "Laurel". Step by step Hattori's dream of being a true watchmaker had become a reality. But the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923 destroyed everything. Time cannot stop, it must move forward. Hattori started all over again, a year later he was remaking his wristwatch this time under the Seiko brand. He rebuilt the tower clock in Ginza, in 1932 symbolizing not only seiko's renaissance but Tokyo's own city.

Keep moving forward, step by step. Seiko has evolved into technology and the science applied to watchmaking. In 1969, Astron was the first quartz watch. In the 1970s, Seiko researchers are looking for alternatives to quartz with solar technology and later we see the kinetic clock, the Direct Drive movement, the Chronograph, Perpetual Calendar, GMT, Astron GPS Solar, Diver's watches and their diving watches. In the late 1990s, they created the Grand Seiko collection with large mechanical calibers such as the 9S and soon after perfection with the Spring Drive system coupled with all these advances and more.

Kintaro said, "He's always one step ahead of others", "Don't be hasty, but don't be rest".
