About Seiko SPB409J1 Prospex Alpinist GMT Limited Edition :
The Seiko Laurel Alpinist was born in 1959. The new Alpinist GMT SPB409J1 is an updated reinterpretation in technology, form and function of the original Alpinist model. The new 6R54 movement allows a 3-days power reserve (72 hours) in addition to providing the GMT function.
Just like the classic 1913 Seiko Laurel, the SPB409J1's blue hands stand out against a light-toned dial.
A red marker on the compass ring is like the Laurel and indicates the north cardinal position.
The 24 hours are indicated on its bezel, which the GMT hand (in red) will indicate with great legibility.
The caliber 6R54 "automatic winding mechanic" creates greater stability and precision. The back of the transparent case allows the owner to enjoy the precise movement. This model combines presence and portability in a balanced way with high readability.
The SPB409 can be harvested like a lifetime. In a case with a volume of 39,5 mm, a large automatic mechanical movement with a very practical calendar function.
About Seiko :
Celebrating 110 Years of Watchmaking
The SPB409 is a companion that shares your experience of the passage of time.
Seiko's history began in 1881, when 21-year-old Kintaro Hattori opened a shop in Ginza to repair and sell watches. In 1892, he opened a factory called Seikosha to produce his own watches. Twenty years later, when pocket watches were still the standard, he experimented with wristwatches, cutting-edge technology at the time.
In 1913 his company successfully produced Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, and has since created many innovative wristwatches.
In 2023, Seiko celebrates the 110th anniversary of its first wristwatch, the Seiko Laurel. The Model SPB409J1 is designed to be a travel companion, a reliable partner throughout life's journey
